07/3/2006 14:42 | Interesting stuff - Goldman Sachs increasing their stake whilst the price drops slightly below the bid level. Only days to go before the deadline, so I s'pose the likelihood of another bid is obviously dropping. But do Goldman's know anything? | rivaldo
06/3/2006 18:50 | Once a takeover is over 50% then it is usually extended to allow others to sell to the bidder. | weatherman
06/3/2006 18:03 | If you don't sign the document, and the takeover proceeds anyway, how soon before you get your money for the shares you hold? | karldinnel
06/3/2006 12:22 | Which is a shame, on a p/e of only 7 at £3 :( | dayjob
06/3/2006 09:51 | Techinvest reports that it looks like a 'done' deal. | sidebar
05/3/2006 21:52 | £3 is a great price for the purchaser - you would have thought another offer would come along - no need to show hand until the 8th though I don't think | markie7
05/3/2006 21:43 | & remember, a counter bid ONLY has to be above 315p, just a 5% hike on the current offer, which would look a bit facile, or simply a provocation to an auction. If something comes in it will have to be 330p+ to look serious. 360p if it is really serious. IF, that is, IF - & stranger things have happened than NCH being taken out at this cheap price! | napoleon 14th
05/3/2006 21:27 | Exactly; if there is no counter bid the deal will go through at 300p/share since they all ready have >50% of the share agreed | gspanner
04/3/2006 18:08 | what is the downside risk of waiting? if you wait and it doies get taken over surely you still get your money but you have just waited a little longer | mickyash
04/3/2006 17:27 | IC this week says that company reported such an impressive set of results that 'analysts' suspect it could trigger a counter-bid. 'Sit tight for now.' | grim
03/3/2006 12:01 | Haven't changed my view still like the upside potential re the downside risk from holding for late counter bid | tuffbet
02/3/2006 20:51 | Goldmans increase stake to 4.7% from 3.2% Still holding... | gspanner
01/3/2006 16:20 | I'm holding until March 9th as well. A counter-offer would be best pitched at the last minute & need only be @ 316p, so why give loads of advance warning? What I would really like is an auction as a result.... This company is good value at anything under 400p IMHO & I'd happily hold & wait for the potential without a bid. | napoleon 14th
01/3/2006 14:54 | Had a reply from nch, the announcement was a technicality and expect the takeover to go ahead. rivaldo I agree entirely with your view. | davet1p
01/3/2006 12:19 | I just think there was a normal reg announcement from the OFT, but they got the names wrong - the 15:00 said Autoglass rather than Safenet... I can't find the 15:00 though - which is a bit odd. | markie7
01/3/2006 12:02 | Where is rivaldo when you need him! | davet1p
01/3/2006 11:57 | Very strange goings on! Must be an announcement today; my guess is the share price is due for a bounce! | philjeans
01/3/2006 11:55 | News on award possibilities davet1p I think your guess may be right | tuffbet
01/3/2006 11:53 | Rang my broker, no knowledge of yesterday announcement, rang house broker, "we don't talk to private investors", rang nch, person was in meeting will call me back. Why no announcement from nch? My take is that safenet know of higher potential bid and have withdrawn to consider higher bid, as the current price is holding. | davet1p
01/3/2006 10:50 | i agree with CSR and am long term holder of IBG but i think my cash from here may go to ELM | mykai
28/2/2006 15:51 | Not sure I understand the ann 28/2/06 15:29: Is the merger on or off? (Or just 'informal') | gspanner
28/2/2006 15:39 | What do people make of the announcement this morning.? | weatherman
28/2/2006 15:00 | So folks. While we are waiting what does everyone intend to do with the proceeds. I have a couple or so in mind. 1. Tempted to get into CSR after dust has settled. Seems great results to me but the market wanted more! 2. Vodaphone ?? It must turn soon - musn't it? (I was going to call this one a safe bet - but not after the last 8 days!) 3. IBG - Internet Business Group. Aim company but well worth a look. Good discussion board with genuine (well-off) posters. Again good results today & takes a short term hit. | sidebar
27/2/2006 11:32 | Glyn: So how do you use the keyboard? :-) Sorry, too much brandy in my morning coffee! | sidebar |
