Nature Group plc
Nature Group's subsidiary, Nature Environmental & Marine Services LLC,
introduces an autoclave system to support its Texas operations
Nature Group is pleased to announce the implementation of a new US Department of Agriculture (USDA) authorised autoclave system that will have a significant impact on the maritime industry along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Nature Environmental & Marine Services, LLC (NEMS) has recently started processing maritime waste through their new autoclave system. The system is designed to process (decontaminate) solid waste received from foreign oceangoing vessels calling at the Texas Gulf Coast. With the use of pressure and heat the machinery eliminates any possible pests, insects and invasive plants that may be contained in the waste material.
Located in Corpus Christi (Texas), the Nature Group facility is treating ship's waste from Port Arthur to Brownsville. With this complete Texas Gulf Coast coverage Nature is helping to protect Texas agriculture from harmful organisms.
The USDA authorised autoclave facility is now receiving all waste requiring this decontamination treatment.
Now that the processing unit is in place, Nature has the ability to process it's own collected USDA regulated waste thus eliminating the need to haul it to third party processors. This allows a significant cost savings in processing fees and truck time.
This is the first system to be installed in the Corpus Christi region, dedicated for maritime waste and is coming at just the right time; Corpus Christi and Brownsville make up the fastest growing maritime region in the US. The vessel traffic is expected to show significant growth due to the expansion of the petrochemical industry in the Corpus Christi area and the lifting of the crude oil export ban.
For more information regarding this facility please contact NEMS by calling 866-770-7952, or send an email to usa@ngrp.com
Notes to Editors:
Nature Group established its operation in Texas in April 2014.
The Port of Houston itself (http://www.portofhouston.com) is the second largest in the USA in terms of total tonnage and with its operations based in Corpus Christi NEMS is at the centre of the fastest growing group of port operations in the country. This is an area of rapidly growing ship movements.
The introduction of the autoclave enables NEMS to offer an all round, state of the art, waste collection and disposal service to customers along over 400 miles of the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, offering significant savings in time and transportation costs.
