Embargoed Release: 07:00hrs Wednesday 10th September 2008 Nanoscience Inc. (`Nanoscience' or the `Group') Toumaz Signs Licensing Agreementwith Infineon Nanoscience, the specialist niche investor in emerging technologies with strong commercial propositions for the healthcare and electronic sectors, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Toumaz Technology Limited (`Toumaz'), has concluded a new licensing agreement with Infineon Technologies AG (`Infineon'), a global semiconductor and system solutions provider. Under the agreement Infineon has the right to develop and market wireless silicon chips based on Toumaz's ultra-low power semiconductor technology for non-medical applications. Toumaz's ultra-low power semiconductor technology was initially developed with a particular focus on medical applications such as wireless infrastructure body monitoring solutions. However, the evolved technology has universal applicability for a wide range of non-medical applications seeking low power wireless connectivity solutions using significantly (typically 10 times) less power than currently available technology. This translates into longer operating lifetimes, smaller batteries and form factors, and the possibility of low cost autonomous wireless sensors using paper batteries, solar cells or energy scavenging power systems. The licensing agreement is a further extension of the relationship established between Toumaz and Infineon in 2005 concerning first and second generation ultra low power wireless silicon chip fabrication. The licensing agreement includes payment of licensing fees and royalties by Infineon on the sale of Toumaz's technology based on the cumulative number of products sold per annum. The Group anticipates this agreement will further diversify and expand Toumaz's product catalogue by the exploitation of its core IP and offer exciting new channels to revenue growth. In addition, the agreement enhances Toumaz's strategy of building global partnerships; Toumaz currently has active agreements with Texas Instruments Incorporated and Cardinal Health Incorporated within healthcare. Professor Chris Toumazou, chairman and chief technology officer of Toumaz, commented: `This is a further endorsement of the low power technology that Toumaz has spent considerable time developing. I am pleased that our investors will be able to see returns not only from the very substantial medical opportunities but also from wider non-medical applications' Guy Spelman, chief executive officer of Nanoscience, commented: `The signing of a licensing agreement with Infineon further cements the tremendous prospects of Toumaz's ultra low power semiconductor technology. It is highly encouraging to see that Toumaz's technology has the adaptability to address numerous markets and to attract high calibre companies to license and extend Toumaz's product reach on a global scale.' -Ends- Further information: Guy Spelman Nanoscience Inc. 07767 338 967 Charles Cunningham/Rose Herbert FinnCap 020 7600 1658 Vikki Krause Hansard Group 020 7245 1100 www.hansardgroup.co.uk About Toumaz Technology (www.toumaz.com) : Toumaz Technology Limited is the leading provider of ultra-low power wireless infrastructure for body monitoring solutions.
