06/3/2002 11:46 | According to MUU website the half yearly results came out out last year on the 12th of March. Do we think that will be similar this year. If it does it makes it sometime at the end of next week, same time you guys are talking us back to the market. Interesting!! | foofighter100

04/2/2002 11:51 | Ducatiman. At last some good logic coming out of the U.K. Paul Atherly is the man who can reward patient share holders. | perthneil
03/2/2002 00:57 | ducatiman, the appliance of logic is not only boring is is also potentially very costly, use the force. | yogro
02/2/2002 13:45 | yogro, lol. Have no worries mate. Virtually no trading on asx, re list will give them a boost, as the institutions having digested the deal, jump on board. Rising tin and copper prices will also help. If Atherly can do for NC what he did at RB then £1.50 is a possibility, keep the faith. | ducatiman
31/1/2002 11:32 | yogro, they have dropped on the asx since the rns, doohhh. | ducatiman
31/1/2002 11:26 | Good news at last. I can't wait to get rid of mine, anything above 48p would be nice. | yogro

27/1/2002 17:59 | The announcement says that the suspension will be lifted on AIM when the Information Memorandum is lodged,I assume by this that it is not this press release but the one still containing the details of the funding sent out to shareholders which will be sent out in due course.I think lifting of suspension is still a week or two off. However my belief is that when it returns it will come back at a least 50p-and because the markey for the shares is bigger in the UK than AUX will be heavily traded (perhaps volatile for a day or two) but with management fund buying now that the deal is concluded my belief is it will continue to climb. | jda
27/1/2002 11:12 | Public holiday in WA tomorrow, can anyone confirm asx open? | ducatiman
25/1/2002 20:32 | About to relist on aim, see todays rns. Not a trading opportunity as they are not on crest but certainly a superb growth opportunity. Will be interesting to see how they open on the back of todays news. The rising copper price should help. Any views? | ducatiman
25/1/2002 14:37 | Should be re listed monday. Any guesses as to opening price, I`ll go for 45/48 | ducatiman
25/1/2002 14:21 | RNS Number:5311Q Murchison United NL 25 January 2002 ASX, AIM and Media Release 25 January 2002 MURCHISON SECURES RIO TINTO'S STAKE IN NEVES CORVO ____________________ Murchison United NL (ASX:MUR, AIM:MUU) today announced that it had finalised agreement for the acquisition of Rio Tinto's 49% interest in Sociedade Mineira de Neves Corvo, SA ("Somincor"), the holding company for the Neves Corvo copper mine in Southern Portugal. The Company will fund the revised acquisition price of US$78 million through a combination of a debt facility, a deferred consideration facility from Rio Tinto and an equity raising. At completion, Murchison's Managing Director, Paul Atherley, will work closely with the Somincor management team in unlocking the full potential of this important operation. Under the terms of this agreement with Rio Tinto, the Company's acquisition of the 49% interest is no longer conditional upon it acquiring an interest from Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro, SA ("EDM"). The Company's bid to acquire EDM's interest in Somincor under a public sale process was submitted in December 2001. The appointment of a caretaker government has resulted in a delay to future tenders until some time after the Portuguese General Election which has been called for March 17, at which time it is expected that the tender process will be re-launched. An Information Memorandum containing full details of the Company's acquisition of Rio Tinto's 49% interest and funding arrangements will be forwarded to shareholders for their consideration and approval at a General Meeting in due course. Suspension of the Company's shares on AIM is expected to be lifted following lodgement of this Information Memorandum. Neves Corvo, located in the Alentejo region of Southern Portugal, is one of the world's highest grade copper mines and is regarded as the jewel of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. The underground mine was constructed 11 years ago by Rio Tinto and EDM at a capital cost in excess of US$550 million. It mines and processes 2.0 million tonnes per annum producing 90,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate for sale to international smelters. The mine has extensive copper and zinc resources and has significant exploration potential for additional resources. Managing Director Paul Atherley commented: "We are delighted to have finalised the acquisition of Rio Tinto's stake in Neves Corvo as it represents a significant step forward in our acquisition growth strategy. The acquisition will dramatically increase our earnings profile and will see us elevated to the mid-tier of international mining companies. We look forward to rewarding shareholders for their patience and support by unlocking the underlying value of one of the world's highest grade copper mines during a period of rising copper prices. Shareholders will be provided with full details of the consideration and funding arrangements for their consideration in due course." | sharestriker
