Posted at 03/1/2007 23:04 by quotes_4_u What a abysmal competition !If i'm not mistaken there does not seem to be any kind of decent prize for the winner(s) ! The champion investor was a class apart, a brilliant well made game and the sponsers surely must repeat it again soon for the sake of 6 grand prize money ! |
Posted at 03/1/2007 18:15 by doubleorquits Sorry cr but i'm in a different league to youIs that the Conference league? Or lower? Remember cr i was the last winner of the m o n e y a m champion investor competition, beat a few thousand players to win the 3 grand first prize Well I've looked but can't see your name anywhere - quotes_4_u or daydreamer was it? |
Posted at 03/1/2007 18:05 by quotes_4_u Sorry cr but i'm in a different league to you when it comes totipping winners, i've lost count over the years of stocks that have risen 300% since i tipped them, of course there's the odd one that fails, you keep banging on about Ptl, maybe i was keen on them but i dont see you or your buddies on the PPR thread now :-)) Remember cr i was the last winner of the m o n e y a m champion investor competition, beat a few thousand players to win the 3 grand first prize, i'm hoping they will start a new competition soon so i can defend my crown and show you amateurs how it's done again :-)) Happy new year.... |
Posted at 20/12/2006 15:36 by barn owl Oh well, another Aim stock added to my list to be crossed out. I may write off the whole Aim market next year and beyond, looks like the market seems to have to many profit warnings and dubious investor information.Good luck to those who decide to hold. |
Posted at 27/11/2006 13:56 by cockneyrebel "Surely, it's more likely that those buying at higher prices on Friday were attempting a squeeze, or momentum traders, rather than fundie investors, as the cap was starting to look decidely inflated IMHO".I disagree. The only reason for anyone attempting to buy @ 19.5p has to be to make a profit and that required the bid to exceed that in some way. What you are actually saying is the next time this rallies like that the same thing will happen then - which I tend to agree. Punters like to buy shares moving north imo and usually get caught in the frenzy. Buying a dip when there is stock about and things are quiet is the way to make real money, that 's why I picked up my 100K @ 7p while everyone else was happily chasing those things that were rising on a spike. You want us to discuss what you said but take 3 days to answer a simple question like have you read the WHI note? I said Friday that we should wait for the results. You seemed to think the same so lets do that. I think you might be paying a lot more then tho, but that's your prerogative. CR |
Posted at 27/11/2006 13:40 by dell314 CR - Why is it "quite amazing"?Surely, it's more likely that those buying at higher prices on Friday were attempting a squeeze, or momentum traders, rather than fundie investors, as the cap was starting to look decidely inflated IMHO. I have to say that it's disappointing that most of the conversation here since Friday has centred around personal attacks rather than sensible debate. I would have expected rather more consideration of the points that I raised, although the lack of interest would support the view that this share has been carried by momentum lately, rather than deeper analysis. FWIW, in answer to your question earlier, I haven't seen the WHI note yet and my attempt to find it on WHI's site failed as they appear to be updating their research sections, at the moment. If you'd care to post it here, I'd be interested to give it a onceover and see what assumptions they use to justify their forecasts. All IMHO, DYOR etc. Rgds dell |
Posted at 24/11/2006 09:10 by jakleeds Just in case anyone had forgotten, as I had until CR mentioned it this morning:"I also made small purchases of Aim-quoted MKM Group and carpet producer Victoria, listed on the main market. The former, a marketing services operator, has had a chequered history. However parallel to the injection of further capital, a new executive chairman and financial director were brought in and the whole operation substantially tightened. After a visit, I was sufficiently impressed to invest at 7.5p: thankfully they have risen to 10p." The article is written by John Lee for today's FT. For those that don't know John Lee, he is a value investor with an outstanding track record. |
