It beggars belief not to have had some word on the company’s plans for Ollachea this week, now it is free of all legal gags.


Is there a plan? Or did Benavides think we shareholdering serfs would bow down to his greatness when he delivered that nothingburger confirmation last week (after no end of delays and whining excuses), leaving him free for yet another SCUBA diving vacation somewhere? Is there a plan, Diego? Are there financiers waiting in the wings, as you’ve assured us for years, or has it all been a big front to maintain your ridiculously expensive salary? Put up or shut up.

PS: What frustrates this desk the most is watching yet another opportunity go begging. This stock should be 25c minimum this weekend, if the company came forward and showed its wares and plans there would be plenty of interest at these prices. But no, we flush another opportunity to be shareholder-friendly down the toilet, thanks to its entrenched CEO.

As a new investor of this company I do not carry the same frustration as long term holders. I have to say I have been in constant communication with the company for the last few months and getting feedback to my questions and concerns almost immediately. Last I heard, as of last night news has been held up with the suits in Toronto and should be out Monday or Tuesday providing some of the answers Mark has been asking for. Keeping my fingers crossed this will happen.

What has changed finally, is the agreement with COFIDE.


That dispute meant financing was on hold, but now it is signed off, they can now negotiate with potential financiers.


Quite why people would sell now, after holding through the tough uncertain times of the legal dispute, for a lower price, is beyond me.


Management salaries now seem to be the focus, so Diego needs to pull something out of the hat to deflect from that. Maybe those resolutions will be defeated at the AGM? That might get interesting...

For some balance here, what has changed? Cofide agreement finalised. Very Large goldmine awaiting finance. Gold IMO to reach 3k an ounce before it retreats. Throughout all of this talks over finance have been ongoing. I’m holding for that finance announcement

Just had my Form of Proxy through the post from Computershare for the AGM on 14th December. The 4 resolutions:

1. To receive the audited financial statements of the Company for the year ended 31 December 2019, and the report of the Directors and the auditors thereon.
2. To re-elect Michael Iannacone to serve as a Director in accordance with the Articles of Association of the Company.
3. To re-elect Santiago Valverde to serve as a Director in accordance with the Articles of Association of the Company.
4. To appoint PKF Littlejohn LLP as the auditor of the Company from the cessation of the Meeting until the conclusion of the next AGM of the Company and to authorise the Directors to determine the auditor's remuneration.

For the last 3 years Gerardo Perez (Chairman) has been on $180k, Diego Benavides (CEO) has been on $539k and Carlos Ruiz de Castilla (CFO) has been on $216k.

Last FY the 3 x NEDs, Michael Iannacone, Armando Lema and Santiago Valverde were on $48k, $72k and $36k respectively.

Every time so far it has not been true, as far as we know.


Otto always advises a sell of a stock in advance of that sale, and he has not stated he has sold MIRL, or intends to do so, despite still being critical of diego for lack of clarity moving forwards.

IKN have advised that the situation in Peru has worsened over the weekend, so I guess we can expect MIRL's share price to come under pressure today, as indeed will probably all the Canadian listed miners active in Peru.


He is resident in Lima so clearly up to speed on events on the ground.


let's hope the situation is resolved quickly and peacefully for all involved. A coup in the middle of a pandemic is a bit strange, it leaves a vacuum at the top at a critical time.

I do agree that Diego's compensation is way too high, he's done very well throughout the long drawn out COFIDE affair financially.


You could argue he kept the show on the road of course, and that may or may not be true, but he is certainly astute.

So next step is funding Diego says he has several options. If funding for ollochea comes through we should see a major re rate and 30c is achievable. Then lunch in Mayfair for us all
