                        Specialist Computer Centres PLC
                                    ("SCC")

The directors are pleased to announce that Meriden Holdings Limited ("MHL") the
100% subsidiary of Meriden Group Plc has successfully completed the signing of a
HCI agreement with SCC.

The HCI division of MHL delivers a consultancy lead service to large
corporations aimed at setting up a tax efficient payroll based deferred computer
purchase agreement under the Government's Home Computer Initiative, and then
dealing with the implementation and supply.

SCC is a large blue chip corporation and in its last audited accounts their
turnover was #521m with profits before taxation of #20m. The agreement marks the
second contract win for the HCI division to co-ordinate the schemes.

SCC will provide access to its clients, which in turn totals over 50,000
employees. The formation of the strategic partnership between MHL and SCC will
enable MHL to act as the sole HCI consultant, and as SCC's preferred supplier
for the provision of certain IT products and services to customers as part of
the scheme.

Commenting on the agreement between MHL and SCC, Russell Stevens, Chief
Executive said "The contract with SCC is anticipated to provide Meriden with a
tremendous opportunity for the HCI division, and we hope that there will be many
more large contract announcements to follow for the HCI scheme.".
