Today is a day to celebrate, and a good opportunity would have been to celebrate with Breakfast Club. Sadly, it was not a breakfast to celebrate, but one to condemn.
By prior arrangement, Breakfast Club convened at Van Hage's Garden Centre, only a short walk from home for half the members. The walk, and the anticipation was the best part of the morning!
The four of us arrived, with 3 vouchers offering "two breakfasts for (just a little more than) the price of one". So we had 6 breakfasts between 4. The staff had rules to follow:-
- one bacon rasher (small), one fried egg, one sausage, and EITHER baked beans OR a half a tomato;
- Toast
- NO SWAPS (I don't eat eggs, but they would not swap for something else).
This was dished on to cold plates, very slowly.
Next, you must queue to pay, which was not quick, so the food (meagre as it is) is cold by the time you get to your table.

All very disappointing
