Result of Annual General Meeting
Marakand Minerals, the base metals and silver exploration and development
company focused in Central Asia, is pleased to announce that all resolutions
proposed at its Annual General Meeting, held earlier today, were duly passed.
Speaking at the AGM, Alasdair Stuart, CEO, said "I am pleased to report that all
the resolutions tabled at today's AGM have been passed, demonstrating continuing
shareholder support for Marakand and its directors.
We set out at the beginning of this year with funding to complete the Khandiza
feasibility study, which has been successfully completed and confirms the great
potential of Khandiza. We are making good progress with our discussions on the
form of project development with the Uzbek government and remain on track for
finalisation of this process in Q1 2005, with a view to moving into project
funding and construction during 2005.
We are also continuing work on our two exciting exploration programmes in
Tajikistan and south-eastern Uzbekistan and we will be updating shareholders on
the results during the coming year."
