                       Appointment of new Chief Executive



Maelor plc, the specialist healthcare products company, announces the
appointment of Tim Wright as Chief Executive, in succession to Stephen Appelbee
who after three and half years with the Company has left to pursue other
business interests.



Tim Wright (39) was previously General Manager, Ireland and Vice President,
International Marketing at Elan Pharmaceuticals. His earlier experience was
gained in senior management positions in the product development and marketing
divisions of both Smithkline Beecham and Pfizer.



Alastair Macpherson, Chairman, said 'Tim is an experienced and successful
manager, whose proven expertise in international marketing in the pharmaceutical
industry will be of great benefit to Maelor during the next phase in the
Company's development.'



Tim Wright will take up his appointment with effect from 17th October 2005.



In the last five years, Mr Wright has been a Director of Port la Salle
Management Limited. He had no further directorships as defined in schedule 2 (g)
of the AIM Rules.
