23/12/2010 08:15 | As we get closer and closer to the wind-up date it is interesting to see that the share price is edging up. | lizzie ii
10/12/2010 12:55 | They have BP and Shell, which are never going to fly. FTSE 250 Oilers have gone up a lot or been taken over. They have 12% in Gilts and 10% in Glaxo and Astrazeneca which have paid good divends but no capital growth. Need a nice xmas rally to get the FTSE over 6200 and then they might have a chance. | robizm
10/12/2010 07:27 | Is that totally true? Haven't they got quite a few oil company shares? Which with the current level of the oil price is probably a good idea. | lizzie ii
09/12/2010 12:48 | These need a big xmas rally as time is running out with a wind up on 8/3/2011. I bought a load at 1/2p and it is eitheir up or lost money as wont be able to sell them now. If the fund managers had a bit of balls and slightly changed the investment portfolio, the Capital shares would have been in the money already. This is run purely for income with no growth elements at all. | robizm
05/11/2010 16:25 | the zeros are 95p so needs about 8 million growth from 200 million portfolio and then another 8.5 million and caps are worth 4p speculative | robizm
02/11/2010 22:22 | sp could fly but for that to happen the assets need to get past the 100p payable to the zeros & that requires rougly 5% rise in assets before Mar 2011 expiry; so yes, quite possible if the markets continue their recent trend. | mangal
02/11/2010 21:17 | With a bit of luck the capt shares should go up soon as long as the market keeps on going | robizm
15/10/2010 07:19 | "Wind-up Provisions/Buy Back Policy The Trust will be wound up voluntarily on or immediately prior to 08/03/2011 unless the Board shall have previously been released from its obligation to do so by a special resolution duly passed not earlier than 08/03/2010. The Company has the authority to repurchase up to 14.99% of each class of share for cancellation." | lizzie ii
14/10/2010 18:58 | what happens on the wind up date and when is it? | seuk
14/10/2010 12:31 | MEQC nicely up this month! Not long now until the wind-up date ... 08.03.2011. | lizzie ii
10/4/2010 19:13 | why have these gone into gilts in such a big way. big mistake buying capital shares | robizm
13/3/2010 12:41 | Brave man, Robizm. However their performance against the Index has been appalling. Allowing for the handsome charges they make breakeven is now at 6250 (assuming that their gross assets perform in line with FTSE - which they haven't). 5 months ago the breakeven outlook on the same assumptions was 6000. Draw your own conclusions. | joan of arc
10/9/2009 11:43 | No deals on LSE recently but on PLUS we have :- Trade Date Time Price Volume Type Consid. 10/09/2009 10:29:59 4.50 14,000 O 630.00 10/09/2009 10:23:51 4.00 25,000 O 1,000.00 09/09/2009 09:51:35 4.00 12,238 O 489.52 08/09/2009 10:48:09 3.50 50,000 O 1,750.00 07/09/2009 15:54:54 2.25 7,885 O 177.41 So someone has paid 4.5p today, and the markup today is rather strong .... plus 30% today. | lizzie ii
08/5/2009 18:18 | lizzie, I know, I have bought 60,000 this week as an all or nothing come 2011, although if the markets recover this will be re-rated before then | dvsfm
08/5/2009 15:56 | Up yet more today. This month the mid-price has moved from 1.25p to 3.25p! Extremely highly geared. DYOR ... but the potential is for this to go a lot higher yet. | lizzie ii
06/5/2009 17:36 | These are extremely highly geared but recent price increase indicates that with the way the underlying assets are now performing, there is a real chance of money coming to the Capital shareholders on liquidation in 2011. | lizzie ii

22/3/2007 10:39 | Looks like I wasn't the only one busy buying first thing this morning!!! | cityfarmer
22/3/2007 10:00 | Hi Leading, yes agree with above its the same fund manager as MGHC very well respected and a great history of delevering, so lets hope he keeps it up. Good luck. | cityfarmer
22/3/2007 09:51 | Cityfarmer - Good timing I think. With a hurdle rate of 1.5% pa and a net redemption yield of 19.45% pa for a 5% pa increase in the market these have to be attractive. Also, the last I heard, M&G are a well respected fund manager and this company seems to be mainly invested in the megacap stocks which are displaying much better value than the FTSE250 stocks. I expect this to rebalance at some point, and as the company does not wind up until 2011 there is plenty of time for this to happen. | leading
22/3/2007 08:12 | Like you Leading feel the recent fall has provided a buying opportunity and these have been a little left behind so I also topped up today although couldn't buy 2,000,000 like you! | cityfarmer |
