CNC continues to look good, my timing was more down to luck than judgement. Basically when my CTO takeover funds came available...

Just purchased my 2nd new position after receiving my Takeover funds from CTO. Another company thats been on my watchlist for years. TSCO. I like the way they are selling off assets like Tesco bank and concentrating on retail. Plus they continue too have a massive share buyback program...

Revised takeover bid been accpeted for BVIC at 1315p. That's a bugger, another great UK company leaving the market and one that was high-up on my buy wish-list that i now have to cross off..

He talks about all the sectors he won't invest in because he believes they make poor investments but i competely disagree with him on this. Money and fortunes are made in all sectors of the economy. Take the people businesses for instance marketing and recruitment. M&C Saatchi is a great company. Is he saying that the Saatchi brothers are not super rich? One of the dragons from dragons den James Caan made his fortune in recruitment. I have invested in recruitment companies before and mulit-bagged my money in them and i've had the odd takeover too.. Both the marketing and recruitment sectors have generated (and continues to generate) many a millionaire..

Next bank announcement 1st August, I want my takeover money from CTO back into the market before the announcement. Interest rate cut, should give the markets a lift..

They are on my short list to buy when the takeover of CTO is completed. I like the forward looking order Outlook..

I'm personally aiming for 36 stock portfolio over the medium term. I hold 29 and just need to add little more to complete my MNG position. I have a takeover at the moment that should go through over the next 6 weeks CTO and with the proceeds ill be buying 2 new companies which will take my portfolio too 30 companies. It will probably take afew years to get to overall goal 36 positions, when I do hit 36 its one in one out. its good to plan ahead with a good watchlist so when you do get a takeover you have others to jump into a position..

EBOX could have a possible takeover offer, no price has been announced yet, hopefully its at a decent premium. Should hopefully make the market realise how cheap and undervalued these reits currently are. Some of these reits shareprice are over 30% below their NAVS

My first takeover of the year CTO. But the bad news for me, its one of 3 companies I hold outside a ISA or sipp. So lots of tax to pay . Especially now its only 3k allowance..

Just noticed Lord Lee's latest FT article published today (nearly missed it as i hadn't realised it was due out today) - "A year of takeovers can fuel my portfolio". He reckons 2024 will be the year of the takeover. I was saying just this very thing back last Xmas. Although here we are nearly the end of March and nothing yet but i think LL is right and all three of us will land one or two at some point this year.. He says that he would be sad to see his large MNG or AV get taken-over.. He also says that we should all be worried and ashamed that so many young people would rather speculate in Crypto than the UK stock market..

Takeover offer MTW, not one I know, but some were in in the know as it suddenly spiked up yesterday afternoon...

SPT takeover bid, big premium..

I find it a fascinating exercise to watch my portfolio evolve over time (and i'm not talking days or weeks here, i am talking over a few years). I was looking back at what my top four holdings were three years ago and they were as thus: 1) TET 2) ANP 3) AVG 4) LGEN That was when TET was at about £10 a share and it's now at £4 so not unexpectably it's dropped from my top holding to about seventh now. It's really interesting watching different holdings jostle for position over time. This is my top four holdings today: 1) AVG 2) CNC 3) MNG 4) ANP MNG i barely even had a holding back in 2021. The vast majority i bought in 2022 with the proceeds of a takeover that year. Equally CNC was a much smaller holding and it too was mostly added to that year. I wonder what the next three years will look like..

I'm surprised CSN isn't getting takeover speculation. A quality company whos share price is massively underperforming. It would be sensible acquisition for some of the bigger insurance boys.

My long suffering share holding VOD that I've held for 7 years and I'm about 50% down with ( but have had stacks of big dividends over the years) is rumoured to possibly to under review for a takeover. Good article on BOWL in last weeks IC that i was reading over the weekend by Phil Oakley. (High up on my wishlist now). He reckons for investors wanting both growth and income it ticks all the boxes. A pe of about 13 and dividend yield of 5%.. I feel the same way as he does because he also goes on to say that with the recent takeover of TEG this puts the spotlight on BOWL as the UK's no 1 operator of bowling centres. Private equity really think they are great investments and he wouldnt be surprised to also see a takeover here. If so then to put it on a similar take-out price of TEG would see a share price in excess of 400p and possibly much more..

Gama are worth alook 134, million cash pot, and shares look cheap. So many shares i fancy, just need afew takeover now...

I've got a few STB which i bought over a year ago at the same time i bought CTG from the proceeds of a last takeover i had. Two of my much smaller holdings along with MANO. Talking about takeover he reckons 2024 will be the year of the takeover and i couldn't agree more. Havent i been saying this here for the last few weeks..
