RNS Number:0421Q London Asia Capital PLC 23 September 2003 LONDON ASIA CAPITAL PLC ("London Asia" or "the Company") Hong Kong Office Established As part of the continued expansion of the Company's activities across the Greater China region, London Asia is pleased to announce that it has taken a 40% interest, via the issue of 60,000 London Asia ordinary 5p shares at 20p per share, in a Hong Kong based investment and advisory business. The business, to be named London Asia Capital Hong Kong Ltd ("LAC HK"), was founded and is headed by Mr C.K Cho, who with the other management hold the remaining 60% of LAC HK. Simon Littlewood, Chief Executive of London Asia, will be joining the LAC HK Board. Application has been made for the shares to be traded on AIM and admission is expected on 29 September 2003. Mr Cho is a UK and Hong Kong qualified barrister, who spent a number of years working for the Hong Kong government, including a period as Chief Investigator for the Independent Commission Against Corruption, before in April 2002 becoming director of Business Development for the Asia region for UK listed investment business Eurovestech plc, and in September 2002 heading international development at a Hong Kong investment banking group. Mr Cho is adviser to Vision Skill, a Hong Kong training organisation, and lectures in Hong Long on securities laws and financial markets regulation. LAC HK will work closely with London Asia's existing operations in China, Taiwan and Singapore, and with the Company's recently appointed Cindy Lam in the London office. LAC HK's core activity will be identifying opportunities for the Company to acquire stakes in businesses which have the potential to list on a Stock Market in Asia or the UK within eighteen months, and performing the necessary due diligence. Mr Cho and his team have substantial legal and investigative expertise which will be used for London Asia projects and also offered as a consulting service to investors based outside the region who are seeking to acquire companies or invest in China. Simon Littlewood, Chief Executive of London Asia, said: "I am delighted to have someone of Mr Cho's substantial experience and contacts within Greater China as part of our team. The addition of a Hong Kong office enables us to tap into the expertise that Hong Kong investors have built up in China, and opens the possibility of taking some of our investments onto the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the future". Mr Cho, Chief Executive of LAC HK, said: "Investors in Hong Kong have considerable experience of investing in China, and the Hong Kong Stock Market has been the first choice for many Chinese companies looking to gain access to overseas capital markets. I look forward to working with the London Asia team to develop Hong Kong as an additional option for listing London Asia's investments alongside the UK and Singapore".
