LDMachin was a legend here.

You can see why Cliff D'arcy has bankrupted himself TWICE previously, avoid him like the plague.

LDM called it right and earned his stripes on LNG.

While the rest of us topped up, egged on by the Fools ( thank goodness I took a 40% haircut at 6.5p/7p ) LDM stood firm in the face of venomous criticism and ridicule. He was the first to point out the futility of director meetings and indeed the inherent dangers of such gatherings.

So once again well done LDMachin.

Yes. they had a charge over all the assets in the plc. Therefore, they should get (nearly) all there money back, incl. fees and charges. the administrator will get his fees, but it then looks as though there is no money for the circa 1m creditors - incl the 2 directors....

So did Barclay's have no security for their £1m loan?

Well it's a sad end for those of us that have followed this and invested in it past or present. The moral of this story is once again, use critical thinking when analysing your investment position's and do your own research. LDM I think you should have the final say on this before you close the thread down.

The message you're trying to access has been removed from the boards. The most likely reason for this is that the message violated our Fool's Rules about appropriate content. Either that or it was swallowed up by intergalactic space beasts from the planet Xeenu.

monkeynuts, you could see very easily, should you exert yourself, how much major shareholders have lost on this. sundaymoney, no, I'm not going there, I don't have facts, but I saw a viable business being sold back to a man who was paid decent money by LNG for its intial purpose. I then saw that business incrementally lose value, and then be re-purchased by the intial vendor. I'm no analyst, just a sufferer, and won't be drawn into accusations. Who really knows? I'd like to say it had been fun guys, .... BUT.

Nicky.

Then there are conspirators in that alleged theft?

yup, agreed, shareholders did indeed make it difficult for Pefaco, but I agreed with that at the time - it was theft. Betshop has money, is making money, but it would have been easy to manipulate a bad month for this deal. We've been out-manoeuvered and that's it. Call it what you will personally, I still call it theft.

Well that is a shame, and not what I expected at all. There is going to have been A LOT happened which we will never really know about.

No way did they lose 450k simply due to unfavourable results either, especially since they had cut back exposure to bets which is why they didnt do so well for the World Cup you cant have it both ways.

Anyway its over now so time to move on. I hope everyone makes back the money lost with other shares somewhere else.

Now is not the time to laugh @ Cliff's loss.

He was a horrible bighead etc but presumably will be more humble in future.

Sorry about the outcome Nicky. A shame shareholders wanted to make it difficult for Pefaco, maybe?

How did they manage to lose so much in mid-October, when sports results were apparently full of shocks?

smart burgerbarwoman. Those are the facts, and Betshop was never fully relinquished into LNG control. GC held and holds the reins. Technological sabotage a real and easily realisable threat to any new owner.

so it's sold for the value of the 0.9m debt + 100k?

not a bad little earner considering we know the business can generate 1m net profit in a good quarter

but unless you have the contacts, credibility, local knowledge one cannot run this business so it had no value for anyone else

looks like the shareholders got what they wanted. they got nothing. they had a deal on the table, chose not to take it as they thought they could do better. as for those wanting to ensure gc did not get control of the business for nothing. well done! obviously the shareholders full of hot air and couldn't even come up with 1 million 1p to buy it themselves. got to feel sorry for those who didn't really have any say.
