Licence Transfer and Board Appointment


The Board of Kiwara, the AIM quoted Zambian based mining exploration and
development company, is pleased to announce the transfer of Prospecting Licence
267 along with the appointment of The Honourable Severine Kazenene to the Board
of the Company.


Highlights:


*        Zambian Prospecting License 267 has now been transferred from LM
Engineering Limited ("LM Engineering"), the Company's Joint Venture partner, to
Kalumbila Minerals Limited ("Kalumbila Minerals"), the joint venture company.


*        The Honourable Severine Kazenene, a director of LM Engineering, has
been appointed to the board of the Company.


In accordance with the terms of the joint venture agreement between the Company
and LM Engineering dated 27 November 2006 and following completion of the
conditions precedent of the agreement for Kiwara to increase its holding in
Kalumbila Minerals in exchange for Kiwara shares, Large Scale Prospecting
Licence 267 has been transferred into the name of Kalumbila Minerals with the
same terms, conditions and area as applied to LM Engineering. The next renewal
is due on the 13th of September 2009.



Kalumbila Minerals is currently owned 75% by Kiwara's subsidiary Kiwara (Zambia)
Limited.



The Honourable Severine Kazenene has been appointed to the Kiwara Board of
Directors as a non-executive director with immediate effect.  His role will be
to liaise with the appropriate Zambian authorities and assist in the development
of the Zambian operations, which the board sees as an integral part of the
Company's future.



The Honourable Severine Kazenene (aged 63) is currently Managing Director and
majority shareholder in LM Engineering, which co-owns Kalumbila Minerals via the
joint venture with Kiwara; he is chairman of Kalumbila Minerals. He was
previously a Member of Parliament in Zambia, for the Chingola Constituency from
2001 to 2006 during which time he held a number of ministerial positions and was
Minister of Copper Belt Province from September 2004 to October 2005. He has
wide regional mining knowledge as well as general business knowledge of Zambia
and in particular of the Copper Belt province.
