All the retailers are in a bad way this couild fall a lot further. I cant see JQV being any different. But for tax losses the eps would be far lower.

JQV nearest competitor is Alexon and they have come out with grim statements.

looks to be sitting on a crucial support line.

if it falls through the support the stock could tumble 50% easily in quick time.

must do a little more research on the fundies before i take a short out.

Debenhams has been dowgraded and JQV has concessions in debs.

Avoid.

"Department store Debenhams lost 3¾p to 94½p. Numis slashed its target price to 76p from 141p and downgraded its 2008 profit forecast to £135.8m from £170.3m and for 2009 to £127m from £178.6m because of the recent slowdown in the UK high street and worries about a disappointing Christmas trading period. See what you mean on this one. If trading holds up maybe pretax of 5/6m and on p/e of only 10 then share price should be double. Maybe some fear re post 38 above. See you got in at a support level on graph.
