I notice the slightly odd, "and become a large, highly-attractive specialty ingredients company." In Mr Shaw's comment. Looking for a retirement exit via a takeover? They seem to be making progress, I guess it'll be another year before we can truly tell if this business has gone from typical AiM 'talking' to actually walking and maybe even running. Anyway a very welcome update, their plan appears to be working, so well done. A takeover at £20 would be most satisfactory! :¬)

Yes, the big boys only takeover horses that are about to cross the finishing line not the nags at the start line.

The potential has always been there, but for whatever reasons since 2008 ITX has yet to become a permanently imbedded core component of a major manufacturer. If that should happen one hopes the herd will follow. No doubt as soon as that looks likely, a takeover would heave into view.
