The film is based on the controversial book "Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance" by Irvine Welsh and was a number one bestseller in over 20 countries. The addition of this movie brings Intandem's slate up to 31 films under management and further builds on an exciting portfolio for 2011. "Ecstasy"is the follow up to Welsh's first book, "Trainspotting", which was voted one of the Ten Best Books of the Century by Waterstones. "Trainspotting", starring Ewan McGregor, was produced on a budget of US$3.5 million and grossed over US$72 million, making it the most profitable film in 1996. The US$5 million budget movie, "Ecstasy", directed by Rob Heydon, begins shooting in Canada on 6th December and stars Kristin Kreuk (star of Smallville) and Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings, Master and Commander).
