RNS Number:2437J Innovision Research&Technology PLC 30 August 2001 Innovision Research & Technology plc AGM Statement Today at the AGM of Innovision Research & Technology, the electronics technology solutions provider, Barton Clarke CBE, Chairman, made the following statement: "Following my statement in the annual report, I would like to give shareholders a further update on progress: We continue to drive forward the strategy of the company as set out at the time of flotation. To this end, we have invested in the people and skills required within the business, with staff numbers now standing at 54 people (up 42% since flotation). Key amongst these appointments are Dr Bruce Smith CBE, who joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in July and the very recent appointment of Trevor Crotch-Harvey to head up our Datalabel activities. Dr Smith's appointment, fulfilling our prospectus commitment, brings both proven business experience and unrivalled research contacts to the Company. Trevor Crotch-Harvey joins us from Motorola where he headed up their Europe, Middle East and Africa Smartcard and RFID sales operations, and was responsible for over $30million of new business in 2 years. Good progress continues to be made in advancing discussions on further licence agreements in all areas of the business. We have recently signed a further DataLabel Evaluation licence with a US healthcare system company and signed heads of agreement on another non-toy licence. Progress continues with all existing evaluation licenses, indeed we have now moved to initial prototype delivery on most such licences. At this stage last year we were working on 20 active concepts. This figure now stands in excess of 100, including many for blue chip companies and will represent a significant diversification of our customer base. The QinetiQ (formally DERA) commercialisation agreement, signed in early 2001, has already resulted in a number of potential areas of mutual interest being identified, we are working closely with the QinetiQ team to move these projects forward. We have, however, decided not to renew the research evaluation license with Domain Dynamics as we feel our R&D resources are better utilised on more commercial opportunities. Earlier this year, the Uniform Coding Council (UCC), the major body responsible for global barcode standards, released a draft Global Standard (G-TAG) for RFID tags. A final standard document is now expected this Autumn. We are already making good progress in establishing a route forward and developing third party relationships to exploit the future potential new product opportunities arising from this standard. Overall, I remain confident that Innovision is continuing to make good progress in its strategy and in developing its growth potential." 30 August 2001 Enquiries: Innovision Research & Technology plc Tel: 0118 936 6311 Marc Borrett, Chief Executive Mike Wroe, Finance Director College Hill Tel: 020 7457 2020 Matthew Smallwood
