TIDMINDY RNS Number : 0169R India Star Energy plc 13 August 2010 INDIA STAR ENERGY PLC (AIM: INDY) Change of Investing Policy & Name Change India Star Energy plc ("the Company") announces that it has posted a circular to shareholders convening a general meeting to be held at SRL Services, 111 Ross Walk, Leicester LE4 5HH on 16 September 2010 at 10.00 a.m ("the GM"). As part of a strategic review the Board has reviewed its investing policy, which was last approved by shareholders at the Company's Annual General Meeting held on 30 December 2009. The Board has concluded that it expects the future geographical focus of the Company to be in Africa and not India. In addition, it believes the Company's investing policy should be amended to reflect the renewed focus on mining and infrastructure projects. Therefore, the revised investing policy is as follows: It is intended that India Star Energy will target (i) investments in or acquire interests in projects, businesses or companies in the resource sector with a focus on mining and related infrastructure; and (ii) investments will be made on a worldwide basis with Africa being a principal focus. It is anticipated that the acquisitions and investments will concentrate on iron ore and other metals, and will include both mining projects and the associated infrastructure needed to facilitate the delivery of the mined products to market. If shareholders approve the proposed adoption of the revised investing policy, a further resolution will be put to the General Meeting to change the Company's name to: International Mining & Infrastructure Corporation plc The Board believes that a change of name of the Company to International Mining & Infrastructure Corporation would reflect the proposed future core business of the Company. If this resolution is approved, the change of name will be effective once Companies House has issued a certificate of incorporation on change of name. This is expected to occur on or around 17 September 2010. The tradable instrument display mnemonic ("TIDM") of the Company is expected to change to IMIC with effect from 7 a.m. on 20 September 2010. The circular will be available on the Company's website, www.indiastarenergy.co.uk. +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Contacts: | | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | | | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | India Star Energy plc | www.indiastarenergy.co.uk | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Haresh Kanabar, Chairman | +44 (0) 116 261 2004 | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | | | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | WH Ireland Limited | www.wh-ireland.co.uk | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Mike Coe / Marc Davies | +44 (0) 117 945 3470 | +--------------------------------+---------------------------------+ This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END MSCGMGMRVZGGGZM
