ICAP responds to the arrest of 3 brokers in New Jersey


Three brokers from the spot Swiss Franc desk of Harlow, a small foreign exchange
broking subsidiary of ICAP based in New Jersey were arrested yesterday afternoon
by the FBI.


We understand from news reports that there have been a further 45 individuals
arrested at other banks and brokers in the New York foreign exchange market.


There has been no suggestion that any ICAP businesses are the subject of the
FBI's investigation. We understand from news reports that the FBI may be making
a statement to the press in New York later today.


These three individuals at ICAP were employed in a broking capacity only and had
no ability to trade as principal on behalf of ICAP.
