Some recent broker recommendations:-

10th Nov.

RBC -REITERATES its SECTOR PERFORMER with INCREASED TARGET PRICE of 230p
NUMIS -REITERATES HOLD with TP of 195p

12th. Nov

Barclays- UPGRADES to OVERWEIGHT

Personally, I think the brokers are right to be positive on the stock but have low-balled and incorrectly called the shot on their collective Price Targets.

Since the October lows of 180p during the general market pull-back, Henderson have surged forward strongly and are now back at 220p.

Some very astute buying by Perpetual Australia.

No reason in my opinion why the share price shouldn't continue its upwards trajectory and back to the near 260p which it achieved earlier this year. And indeed beyond.

All the while still enjoying "cutting the coupons" in the form of some increasingly generous dividends.

Very solid results and update from Henderson against a more challenging recent market.

Many economists are predicting a rotation by investors out of cash+ bonds and into equities in the coming months.

I have been mentioning this for a while.

The Perpetual Australia Group have further massively increased their stake in Henderson in a very short space of time.

A month ago, they had gone up to 10.68%

After that they increased further to 12.75%.

And today an RNS has come out showing that they have now gone up to 13.75%.

That is an enormous stake in my opinion in Henderson.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Do you know anything about Manx Telecom?

Otherwise, back to Henderson.

Still not sure why Perpetual Investments of Australia have built such a large holding in Henderson. Have not yet been able to trace if it is all for their funds or whether any of it may or may not be for their own account.

Perpetual are now up to 10.68%

And Australian Super have just declared an interest over 5%

Clearly Henderson have a great following Down Under.

Good riddance to Salmond. - What a sour and dour individual. At a time when it is right to bring the nation together to face jointly the many national and global challenges ahead, he wanted to divide it. His divisiveness was in my view numbingly short-sighted, self-serving, inward-looking, and despicable. The good Scots people saw through all that. Twenty-eight out of thirty-two Scots territories said No.

I hope Salmond is forever drummed out of politics, never to return.

Why is Sturgeon delaying her resignation? - Equally despicable conduct. She needs to follow suit forthwith.

Politics in the UNITED Kingdom will be a far better place without both of them.

Salmond and Sturgeon now need to do the honourable thing and both resign. How can Scotland now credibly be run by two such politicians who have so fundamentally disagreed with the concept of Scotland being part of the United Kingdom?

They are at odds and clearly out of touch with the majority of the people they govern. Clearly not in contact with the feelings of the majority of the good Scots people.

If they lost, Salmond and Sturgeon should accept that. And do the right and honourable thing and resign. They should in my opinion fall on their swords in very short order.

as at 23.15hrs with the polls closed, the bookies are now offering a massively widened 7-1 for Yes-to-win and a microscopic 1-12 or lower on NO-to-win.

As far as the bookies are concerned, Better Together have won.

Several bookies now widening odds Yes-to-win from 3-1 to 4-1 or even higher

At the same time, No-to-win have significantly tightened from 1-4 with many bookies now offering only 1-6.

Seems pretty clear which way the bookies think it will turn out.

Well, clearly Perpetual Investments of Australia are gung-ho about Henderson.
Perpetual have been adding to their stake significantly in recent times.

With their latest purchase of HGG shares taking them from a 9.57% holding to 10.68%.

I saw in two-day old Bloomberg article that Ladbrokes, the bookies, are offering the following odds on the YES/NO vote.

Yes to win 3-1
No to win 4-7 (7-4on)

Telling odds from the bookies. Not even that close.

But perhaps these odds - as at today- from oddschecker are even more revealing.
Seems like No to win has further narrowed to 1-5

It is abundantly clear who the bookies think will win.

They should've given the English a vote - just think, no more drain on the NHS, no more possibility of a Labour government, hell with a bit of luck Millipede would emigrate north of the border. Please let the English have a vote.

I know that Henderson is a Scots name but don't get confused!!

HGG is a London-based UK Company and with Reg'd Offices in Jersey!!!

Having said that, I don't blame people for pulling money out of Scotland. Alex Salmond is dreadful.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the man further than I could throw him.

I think he's completely off his rocker and is selling the good Scots people a false bill of goods.

Scotland is currently part of one of the most prestigious, highly regarded, influential and powerful countries in the world.

By itself with a population of 5million people, Scotland will be ranked in Europe alongside the likes of Serbia and Croatia in size and influence.

Salmond will deprive the Scots of the UNQUANTIFIABLE ADVANTAGES of having 100% access to:-

-The National Health Service (despite its faults still considered the best in the world)
-The British Army
-The Royal Air Force
-The British Army
-The Social Welfare System
-Membership od so many Supranational organisations like NATO, EEC, Trade Bodies, G10, EEC
-The relative strength of sterling.
-Important Institutions and Organisations which are respected throughout the world
-Embassies, Consulates around the world
-Automatic access to UK education/universities
-Enormous human, intellectual, cultural, political resources
-Great financial resources
-The list could go on forever

Salmond will relegate Scotland to a third or fourth-tier country bereft of any real global importance or clout. He will rob Scotland of the Prestige, Power and Position of being a key part of one of the greatest nations on earth.

I hope that the Scots don't fall for Salmond's false bill of goods because the minimal amount they stand to gain ( a bit of nationalistic pride) really pales into microscopic insignificance compared to what they might lose.

Doesn't look like a very good deal to me.

If the Yes Vote wins, Salmond will go down as the man who reduced his country from from a great one to a peripheral one.
