                Annual General Meeting held on 15 December 2006

Henderson Far East Income Trust plc (in members' voluntary liquidation)
announces the results of the Annual General Meeting held earlier today.

Certain resolutions were withdrawn following shareholder approval to wind up the
Company. The resolutions to receive the report and accounts, approve the
directors' remuneration report, re-elect Mr M Watt and re-elect Mr Meredith
Hardy were proposed and passed.  All other resolutions as set out in the Notice
of the Meeting were withdrawn. The full text of the resolutions can be found in
the Notice of Meeting contained in the Report and Accounts, copies of which are
available for viewing at the Document Disclosure Department of the Financial
Services Authority.

The Company also announces the retirement of Sir Victor Garland, Mr Garth Milne
and Mr Giles Weaver with effect from the close of the Annual General Meeting
today.
