Today's RNS says Geeya will post formal application with the Chinese regulatory authorities after shareholder vote to be taken today.

Yet the RNS of 09 Nov said - 'Geeya continues to seek regulatory clearances in China. Such clearances, as detailed in the announcement of 10 October 2011....'

So somebody's got their times mixed up somewhere, Geeya couldn't have been pursuing the regulatory process if they didn't have shareholder approval. Still they've lodged their half million quid in escrow, deadline March for formal offer, could be early summer before we get paid. Probably explains the flurry of small sells yesterday, frustration.

Deposit of 500K has been paid into escrow, a move which increases the certainty of this takeover concluding.

Odd reaction today as the extension was flagged before. This will take a while to go through and patience is required. Might even be a good arbitrage opportunity so one to watch.

Agree with that. Chinese regulatory procedures basically a form of currency control. They don't like money leaving the country without good reason.

Also worth therefore knowing that it will be expensive for them involving a lot of advice administration and lawyers fees. The Chinese suitor would simply not be proceeding with the offer if they felt they would be unable to demonstrate it was in Chinas interests or it was likely to be rejected.

We know now that they've been in negotiation since May 2011, plenty of time to check things out, organise finance, directors are recommending the action, don't see why it should fall through, don't know anything about Chinese regulatory procedures though, 4 months seems a long time.

What would happen if euroland imploded meanwhile and markets went into freefall, might the Chinese want an even better bargain?

Yep, isn't that the phrase amex used to use in their tv ads? Anyway I was referring to 45p which will do nicely for me, I entered in July @23p so good short return.
