    Globe Specialty Metals Announces Share Buyback Program

    New York, N.Y., December 19, 2008 - Globe Specialty Metals (AIM: GLBM.L) today announced that its Board of Directors approved a share
repurchase program that authorizes the Company to repurchase up to $25 million of the Company's common stock during the ensuing six months.
The program does not obligate Globe to acquire any particular amount of shares and may be modified or suspended at any time at the Company's
sole discretion.
