IMO, now is the time to be building up one's stake in Glisten. With only a few weeks to go before results and these should be good. I have no inside information but I have great confidence in the company.

me too! happy to hold, and add a few from time to time.Increased profits and a maiden dividend will also boost the share price, and I'm sure we'll see both of the former over the next few months.

bought in at 102 p some time ago, and enjoying the slow but fairly steady rise. i think it will need news of aquisitions to set it alight, and was hoping that the director link with interlink would create some action. happy to hold meanwhile.

I watch this stock carefully since the article in IC, Should I wish to buy 50,000 then I know that I would have pay between 5 and 10p more than the current offer price, due to timing with Medisys and Dragon Oil holdings I am unable to move funds

For those that are holding, this looks rock solid imo

Good Luck to you

Someone wants to buy, for sure, but MMs haven't got the stock so they tried the tree-shake but that didn't produce many sellers, so the only way they're going to get stock is to walk the price up ;@)

I've noticed yesterday a small broker to broker trade of 10,000 and today a further 60,000. Any more like this could indicate a large buy is being lined up. Maybe not, but I added a few today anyway. I can't see the reason for the broker trades when investor trades are so few and far between.Perhaps I'm wrong in my analysis, but I'll be adding again if this goes on.

Hi hughlss
Yes, I like this one - nice graph, upward sloping trend, and not volatile! If Inter Link Foods is anything to go by, then it bodes well for GLI. If the price dips, I'll just buy more, as long as the upward trend is still in force.

I tried to buy 5k of GLI a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't do it online so my broker had to phone the order through. MMs wanted 3p above the offer for 5k! They would only sell me 3k for the offer price, so I took 3k - price went up straight away. I can only assume they're very short of stock.

hi SLJ,
don't know about you, but I'm in for the long term on this one - it's going to be rather like watching paint dry - but Glisten is pretty much a 'dead cert' winner, IMO. Probably the only excitement we'll see will be twice a year around results time. So let's sit back and watch them making popcorn and profits.

"LONDON (AFX) - Glisten PLC said turnover for the first four months was 8 pct
ahead of last year and it is on course to deliver a significant trading
improvement when it announces its interim results next year.
Its order book for the Christmas period is full, and it is confident for the
remainder of year, it said in a trading update statement.
Looking forward, it said demand for Easter was encouraging.
Furthermore, it announced that Glisten Confectionery had secured the UK
rights for the distribution of Sun-Maid chocolate coated raisins in addition to
the rights it already holds for Scandinavia.
"The expanded sales team continues to work on widening the customer base and
we expect to be able to report further successes at the time of the announcement
of the interim results for the six months to December 31 2002, expected to be
released in March 2003," said chairman Jeremy Hamer.

All looks very solid - cash generative, no dodgy accounting in this kind of business and a v.good defensive play in these weak markets. PE for the current year I believe is in the region of 8X because you have to add back the current debt that Glisten has but consideriing that Cadbury's trades at above 15X, I'm still pretty happy.....!

My maths may be wrong, but, according to 'The Business' at the weekend, the flotation valuation was £11.7 million, so at 80p per share there must be 14.6 million shares. The latest half year profit was £899,000 pre tax.Being conservative let's say £1.5 for the full year. That equals earnings of 14.6p per share (pre-tax) or a p.e. of 6.15.
Now, that doesn't answer your question re: end of year estimates from analysts, but, in the absence of any broker information/research perhaps it helps. I would advise tho' that I based the above on what I found in the newspaper acticle - not the best of starting points for in depth research. That's not to criticise their reporting - I was very glad to read what I did.
Please, anyone, double check my maths, but GLI looks good to me - very good in fact - (even if I did get a decimal point in the wrong place!)

Can't help with that, sorry.
There was a useful article in last weekends 'The Business' in case you can acquire that issue. It made the comparison with Inter Link Foods and even suggested a merger eventually, as one of the directors is on the board of both companies. GLI, I would expect, will be as successful as Inter Link, and I have taken a stake already.

Don't suppose anyone knows where I can get an online prospectus of Glisten?

Charles Stanley can only post!

Yes, on second thoughts there's no real hurry, too often I've jumped into buying shares too soon, thinking ,like a lot of people, that you you might not get another chance at the current price. But with market sentiment as it is, and, as you pointed out, the probs in the US,even the best of shares are being held back. Also being small market cap. and newly floated GLI may drift for a while until the news flow starts and result time approaches.I'm keeping a close watch tho'.

i expect the US markets may be a bit rocky next week due to accounting worries. may be worth holding off and watching in case you can get them cheaper.

thanks, sranmal, for the link. Now I'm in a better position to make an investment decision! I wouldn't mind betting that Glisten do as well as Inter Link Foods. I'll be on to my broker first thing Monday morning.

Does anyone have any information on Glisten plc? All I know is that they started trading yesterday, that they make chocolate coated peanuts and other confectionary, and that a director is also a director of the very successful Inter Link Foods. All AFAIK.
