18/2/2003 19:13 | does anyone here receive the GNI market reports by email, and what do they think of them? | sw11
08/10/2002 20:22 | Had an E.mail from GNI today. Touch to be updated weekend of 19th Oct to fix some bugs. They are evaluating the addition of stop loss functionality. They are phasing out support on Windows 98 and ME. | jeffmack

04/9/2002 07:33 | Update: Service on New Beta Version of Touch COntinues to be good. There are a few little bugs but ntohing serious. Very reliable like the good old days. Dealers continue to do an excellent job fast & furious! Research is top notch. Hope this carries on........ | matthewa
23/8/2002 17:19 | Last two tradign days system has not put a put a foot wrong. No slow down dealyed prices etc - feels like it used too. Lets hope bank holiday weekend doesnt put it back into a lazy mood.......... | matthewa
19/8/2002 16:47 | Update: I am currently trial testing the latest BETA version & while it is a marked improvement I still cannot recommend it. During the last five trading days the sytem has not been ready by 8 AM. By the time it is ready usually about 8.30am - 8.45 AM the action is over and it throws ,e out for the day. It still doesnt work from about 1500 onwards till about 1600 AM with false prices and delayed tickets. Apart from these periods it works perfectly. Very frustrating indeed as I cant trade during the busiest times. | matthewa
12/8/2002 17:25 | Mathewa I to have had problems with GNI slowing down after 2.30 to 3pm over the last 3 to 4 weeks but not to the extent that you have , my problem is the index data feeds freeze and sometimes individual stocks yellow stip prices slow down, in addtion my pc will start to use 100% cpu time all going to the touch software, witch is the only software running on this PC as I have a mini network of 4 PC's and run CMC, ADVFN etc on the other 3 My comms is BT ADSL and the PC is a 1.2g + 512meg ram Win 2k OS I offer a possible explaination for your problems but note I am no expert on this subject, but I wonder if somewhere between you and GNI if the data traffic gets to heavy if its throttled back thus causeing a bottle neck, one reason I say this is that last year BT said that they were going to do just that because of the increase in people useing sites such as GNI,CMC or sites were large volumes of data are streamed to a user who is connected for long periods to the same site , thus using condiderabley bandwith on their network, I beleive that BT backed down because their was such a backlash about it , as people were saying why pay for ADSL if the data feed was going to be throttled back. You could check you data transfer rate at http//www.pcpitstop. | spiretown

08/8/2002 23:15 | Matthewa....what hardware are you running, how full is your hard disk, do you run a stand alone trading platform, are you running loads of level 2 screens and data flowing, what is download connection speed, have you used alternative isp, I am spending this winter in the south so would be interested in further understanding your set up, and comms arrangements as I don't know whethe rto ship out my set up or buy it all when I get there. One other point, I am sure the GNi lag isn't necessarily user defined, but once your connection slows then it won't catch up and less you come off completely and then go back in. I run cfd touch and futures on two seperate systems on 64k isdn lines with streaming charts, currently looking at bonding lines to give 128k and then home network. speak soon via e.mail | bigmolly
08/8/2002 17:32 | GNI's upgraded software for both Touch and CFDs should be out end September. Saw it yesterday and it looks good. Charting okay too. | chaspebble

05/8/2002 23:34 | I found today that the only way I could check the Dow/FTSE prices was to have the tick chart on GNI and I could see what the time was for the quote.. the indices window was often completely wrong in comparison to it. As for Level 2.. But I also had problems with my TV feed and that was slow as times by several minutes so I was looking at both screens and checking the times for each and not really knowing what was going on! Each feed would then catch up and slow down again. | jumpin
05/8/2002 18:55 | Yes I am aware of that jhurbanek. I tried out Touch before I actually opened an account with them as I was concerned about that. I put more memory in my computer as well. But it hasn't been too bad really considering my connection apart from when US opens. I don't have too many windows open on it as I use a TV data feed for the rest of the market. But today was really bad, just after I posted there was a message asking to log out/back in again as they had to do something, so maybe that was why? | jumpin
05/8/2002 16:48 | Jumpin - You do realise the minimum line spec Touch should be run on is 64k ISDN. I have a laptop attached to a 56k line and would not even consider trading using it. Memory and processor speed also fairly critical. What are you running? | jhurbanek |
