12/6/2014 15:09 | I am also likely to apply but it has been a while since I've seen an investment trust of this type (pure long equity) launch. I'm used to seeing companies launch to invest in debt, infrastructure etc, but a closed-ended long-only equity fund is an interesting one. In particular, given Terry Smith's track record, will it move to a premium straight away, or will the costs and the time it takes to get invested drag the NAV down and sentiment with it? If you are interested I'd recommend you try to view the annual speech from the Fundsmith conference which is/was on the website, where TS explains why he wouldn't invest in an emerging markets fund or index and why his is different. | mad foetus
11/6/2014 20:04 | I'm likely to apply (closing date 20 June). A lot of EM trusts are full of banks and energy companies, which this will avoid. Yes, fees are high, and will eat into NAV for a good while before it's fully invested. If they had promised an early dividend policy, it would only have meant giving investors back some capital. | jonwig
03/6/2014 11:36 | Hi, I think the trust could be interesting once it is launched. So I've made this thread a favourite! | veldt
01/6/2014 16:28 | I thought I would start a new thread for this emerging markets investment trust. Looks interesting. Only notable downside is the management fee at 1.25% of net assets which looks too high, but will probably be reduced as the trust gains critical mass. No dividend to start with. | topvest
