fountains plc announces that the Hill Samuel Offshore Trust Company Limited, in
its capacity as sole trustee of the fountains Employees' Share Trust ("the Trust
"), purchased 40,000 ordinary shares in fountains plc at a price of 130 pence
per share on 14 January 2004.  As a result of this transaction, the Trust holds
40,000 shares in fountains plc representing 0.39% of the issued ordinary share
capital.
