First Calgary meeting materials & conference call

    First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. files meeting materials and schedules investor
conference call to discuss proposed acquisition by Eni S.p.A.

    CALGARY, Sept. 25 /CNW/ - First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. (TSX: FCP,
AIM: FPL) (FCP or the Company) announces that it has filed with the Canadian
securities commissions the information circular and proxy statement and
related materials in preparation for both the extraordinary meeting of
bondholders of First Calgary to be held on October 14, 2008 and the special
meeting of shareholders and optionholders of FCP to be held on October 29,
2008. The meeting materials are available at www.fcpl.ca and at www.sedar.com.
Securityholders are expected to receive the meeting materials in the coming
days.
    Bondholders registered at the close of business in London on October 6,
2008 will be entitled to receive notice of, and vote at, the extraordinary
meeting of bondholders. Shareholders registered at the closing of business in
Calgary on September 22, 2008 will be entitled to receive notice of, and vote
at, the special meeting of shareholders and optionholders. If you require any
