A very useful Q&A which aligns with the research I have done on Manganese. There is a good chance that the project could be coming on line and then ramping up at just the right time to take full advantage of the predicted 2020 under supply situation.

Clearly it is too early to break out the bunting, that comes when the licence has been awarded, the DFS completed and capex funding secured.

The link to the Q&A is here:

"The manganese market is not related to the iron ore market. Manganese ore is much less abundant than iron ore and consequently the manganese price is significantly higher than the iron ore price (currently double the iron
ore price per tonne). In addition, a large amount of iron for steel production comes from recycled steel and this is expected to grow in coming decades as China begins to recycle more steel This will see iron ore useage taper off, however, recycled steel still needs additional manganese to be added to achieve the required chemical composition. As such, the manganese market is forecast to outperform the iron ore market due to increasing steel demand be it in new or recycled form."

Is important as it differentiates this project from all the Iron Ore Projects that are struggling at current IO price.

Given short term funding is in place I do not see the release of the Q&A as a cynical attempt to ramp the share price ahead of a mega diluting placing, far from it they are clearly ensuring the market understands the nature of the project properly in advance of the rest of the news coming out so the share price can react accordingly. If there is a small equity requirement to compliment what ever funding deal is done then this is the responsible way to ensure it gets done at a fair price to existing shareholders (including Dave Reeves himself, who put up his own collateral to get the short term loan).

I do like the last sentence of the Q & A sheet "Ferrex’s management team, which has extensive experience developing mines in Africa, is confident Nayega will
be the next new manganese mine."
I think the mining licence is in the bag but might be a few off yet.
Looks like a few are putting their money on the table ahead of the announcement.
Seems a reasonable approach to me.

Perhaps all was not as it seemed to be Steve!

You put too much faith in the fact of directors personal holdings....we never know what goes on in such circumstances?

Dan,
I can only put it down to the delay in the Togo license and funding - it has taken a great deal longer than expected, and whilst I am still confident it will happen, I think the delays are causing some understandable concerns - no matter how confident I may feel, nothing is definite until it is definite, and the continued low price of IO does us no favours.
I am certain that is why AA backed out of their funding deal, although how on earth DR managed to negotiate that in the first place is beyond me – it was almost too good to be true for FRX.

Hi tc,
I agree, Dan did call it down successfully to 0.5p - all credit to him for that.
Having done so, I am surprised that he does not see it yet as a buying opportunity.
Doubtless the low liquidity and large published spread is putting off a few potential investors, although, as we all know, the mm's will tighten the spread extra fast when it suits them and they want it to be more liquid - as I posted before, hence the buying opportunity in my view.
Interesting that the last few buys have been at virtually the full offer price.
Ciao
Steve

Fair play to DM, he did call it down to .6p or less, pure luck played a large part though.
Either way, no one likes or has any time for a brag merchant, who contributes very little to a sensible discussion (good or bad). Hopefully when he has replied to this in his usual childish way he will p--s off and play somewhere else. Never have liked show-offs, perhaps he was bullied at school.

Delusional DM has been counting sheep in his sleep again, he is so full of bullsh*t he could self supply manure for the one thousand sq mile sheep farm he claims to own in in NZ.

I hope you are right Steve, as you have had a rather large number of bummers over the past year or so. All those other stocks you told me were buys all bombed as well.

Remember the hot tip you had from the CEO I believe it was whom was calling you from some airport or other.....it worthless today!

As for spread I use them for refernce I have never made a dummy's run. I either buy or sell full stop!

Good luck with your holdings!

I don't like this game any longer. I was very lucky very very lucky to make the million pound hit with BEM......it was pure luck I can see that now even though I have developed a great almost fool proof system it only seems to work picking downers, my track record there is 1000%

But shorting for real money takes forever, catching them on the up is better but rarer, TAL I have monitored since it fell from what it was 47p......not a bad return but there are much better things in life to do especially when you don't need the money!

Two points, Dan.
That is NOT the true spread - if you do a dummy trade, you can both buy and sell well inside the spread.
Secondly, some of the largest share price rises I have seen have come soon after the mm's opened the published spread wide - we shall see what happens for the rest of this week.
I am surprised if you had not noticed the same thing, and also checked if the spread was "real".

Perhaps market sentiment is changing towards it, Dan - that is if other investors share my view.
I don't see many sellers around at this price, but buys are slowly trickling in for those who see this share price as an opportunity.
The posting below is copied from the LSE Board today -courtesy of "jr71"

"
One thing that remains constant in this share is it doesn't take much buying pressure to get a rise in share price
A few buys today and we have gone blue.
Reading through a few articles on Ferrex over the weekend seems to suggest funding is available with out dilution once the mining permit comes through. "

Why should it be a buying opportunity Steve when it's fallen this far on known data. There is no reason for any upward movement here at all.

We can though reason that it could be the usual MM's ploy to drum up the inexperienced investors' curiosity, as it has done yours, and temp them into buying!

Foolishly thinking aye, aye something must be up, better get in now as not to miss the boat!

Morning CS
Lets hope so. The Togo delay is getting worrying, unless announcement will only be accompanied by funding details and that is also a delay -- who knows.

The price of IO is stabilising - may well have bottomed - as the share price reflects.
It is beginning to look to me like a buying opportunity - let's see what happens when we get the Togo license and hopefully funding.
