The brand has been acquired from Messewelten, a subsidiary of Messe Berlin, by G+J Expomedia Events ("GJ EME"), the Hamburg-based joint venture operation between Expomedia and Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG ("G+J"), Europe's leading magazine publisher. Key Points * Turnover of BABYWELT events in 2006 was Euro1.2 million; * Bookings for BABYWELT events for 2007 are currently 50% ahead of the same period last year; * The acquired events will now be organised by GJ EME, with BABYWELT events planned for the major cities of Hamburg, Essen, Cologne, Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart; * The acquisition of BABYWELT underlines GJ EME's strategy of running consumer shows within market segments dominated by G+J publications.
