                 VODAFONE INCREASES SHAREHOLDING IN EUROPOLITAN

Further to the announcement of 5 February 2003 of Vodafone Group Plc's 
('Vodafone') proposed recommended offer for the shares it does not already own
in Europolitan Vodafone AB (publ) ('Europolitan'), Vodafone today announces that 
it has increased its shareholding in Europolitan from approximately 74.6% to
approximately 78.1%.  The increase in shareholding was effected through market
purchases on 5 February 2003 at a price of SEK47.00 per share and for a total
consideration of approximately SEK678m.
