Kvaerner awarded US$15 million contract by US Army

LONDON, 11 OCTOBER 2001: Kvaerner, the Anglo-Norwegian engineering and
construction Group, today announced that it has been awarded a US$15 million
contract by the United States Department of Defence for Tropic Test Support
Services at international locations, in support of the United States Army,
Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, USA.

Kvaerner Process Services, Inc., Houston, USA, will provide support in
engineering, logistics, materials, instrumentation, electronics, environmental
sciences, communications and computer systems, as well as in supporting
Cooperative Research and Development Agreements with international colleges
and universities.  The contract is for an initial period of five years with
one three-year option to extend.  Completion is scheduled for September 2009.
