21/3/2008 10:10 | I see that PP has arrived here. Is their no God? | greek islander
21/3/2008 03:55 | More stable ? Questionable really........we shall see. From SharesMag China is expected to become the second-largest economy for travel and tourism in 2008, generating around £592bn. ET.China.com International offers direct exposure to the travel market in China. It has had a choppy time since floating in 2007 but is beginning to look more comfortable. With the company having learned its lesson over the need to keep the City updated and short-term investors having since taken profits, the stock price should become less volatile. Buy. | papalpower
21/3/2008 02:22 | Another interesting little stock. Seems very volatile, and probably rightly so in the present climate, and with a business model that really does appears on the face of it to have minimal barriers of entry. However, with the Olympics ongoing in 2008, its probably in the right place at the right time for some quick good results and shares being dumped by founders, before the wider effects of high Chinese inflation filter through into everyday life and start to cause a potential downturn. Therefore, volatility might be king here, with quicks ups and downs as things get pushed, and sold into. Potential therefore for making money, long or short. | papalpower
21/3/2008 02:20 | ET China serves the corporate and leisure market in South China through the sale of airline tickets, hotel rooms, packaged group tours and associated travel products and services to corporate entities and to individual travellers. In addition, through a joint venture with China Southern Airlines, the Group provides the e-ticketing service and back office support for China Southern Airlines. | papalpower
21/3/2008 02:19 | A nice new thread is now out there in the ether for ETC. Enjoy as you so wish. | papalpower
20/3/2008 09:35 | This is the only blue in my portfolio. Up 2.5 - but no obvious reason why. Maybe that will become clearer later as when this has happened in the past with no apparent trading, a big purchase has eventually shown itself. | greek islander
11/3/2008 08:41 | All truth be told...this could go either way. The stock market being what it is at the moment this could easily fall back to 90p but equally, if there is sufficient news flow, this could easily climb to £3 over the next few months. I am out for now but in part wish I wasn't. I felt that 60% profit was enough for me in the short space of time that I was in, but I don't think the current share price represents the stocks long term worth. I will definitely be back: either when the price is back to being ridiculously cheap or when liquidity has improved. | longshanks
10/3/2008 20:05 | explorer That's very possible but I hope not. It is very difficult making a prediction here. Any weakness in the share price will tempt PIs to panic out and take profit. mustau GNG is my hope to be another major player in embryo stage. And it is already profitable - now that is the big bonus! Takes away most of the risk. | greek islander
10/3/2008 19:32 | on the face of it the GZL executives seem to have got a good deal, getting their ETC shares today at 88p however i suspect that ETC may well fall back to around the 80p-90p again over the summer after last year's loss is announced (at which point i'd probably buy back into the company, everything else being equal) | explorer88
09/3/2008 13:29 | GI, Every stock has its negatives, you have to chance. My biggest regrets was not taking a position in QXL around the £1 mark. Broker at the time failed to fill the order and then came out with baseless arguments on why I should'nt buy. I agree expectations are high, from what I've read, all in the right direction and not to forget they are collaborating with a few multi-nationals. Walking but could become a marathon! | mustau
08/3/2008 19:56 | Yes mustau It doesn't surprise me to see GNG RCG holders on this BB. I think though that we have to be aware of the negatives here. Firstly, the overheads must be pretty high, if all this turnover is not yet producing a net profit. Secondly, we cannot be sure of the cash/liquidity situation and whether more cash will need to be raised later. Thirdly, because of the lack of information coming through, their are a lot of imponderables. This is a low cap recent IPO based in China with a fast moving turnover and notwithstanding the aforementioned, it has all the potential to multi bag. If we are privy to the prelims soon and if they are as good as many of us are hoping for, then the share price could possibly go sky high. On the other hand the level of expectation is great, so some has already been included in the closing price Friday night. The share price is undoubtedly being supported by lots of small PI buys which could well continue for some time. However, many of us suspect that someone is building a position and if that is the case and the prelims are good then we really will have a 175-180p share price very soon. In fact it is not beyond the realms of possibility to see 300p. It has happened before and even on occasions I have been in there at the time. It is, however, a rare situation for this to come about. If potential big stakeholders like JTCod get tempted in, then daily 20p-30p rises will come about.....and I see every reason why they might fancy a punt here. A momentum is beginning and it reminds me of the early days at RCG GNG and Tanfield. Exciting isn't it? We really could be on to something! | greek islander
08/3/2008 19:08 | GI This has the potential to be special, looking at the ccard agreement, sums up where this co could be in a few years.I have taken a position albiet a small one. Broker is already questioning and agreed to research this weekend. They missed on the early rise of gng when I first mentioned/acquired. I'm sure if they like, the stock will be touted to some of their other clients. | mustau
08/3/2008 00:45 | Steg We all do that from time to time. It is really frustrating. The only way to avoid that is to stay long at all times. Been very tempted to top slice here but the buying pressure is so great here and I am sure that someone is building a big stake. Such momentum is rare these days. If it goes on like this for another week or two we really could hit 175-180p | greek islander
07/3/2008 19:44 | I wasnt talking about today - i bought in Oct, sold in Feb... | stegrego
07/3/2008 01:02 | Well looks like we know virtually who ALL of the sellers were today then! | greek islander
06/3/2008 19:36 | Looks like i managed to buy at the top of the first spike and sell at the bottom of the spike down..... Doh and double doh. Ah well - good luck all current holders | stegrego
06/3/2008 18:36 | longshanks Thanks. Don't like investing (ETC an exception) in micro caps that are not profitable in net terms but will go and have a look at SCE. Thanks. | greek islander
06/3/2008 17:36 | Will check out GNG, Greek Islander. You might want to take a look at SCE. Interesting micro-cap. I attended a web conference today with 8 others and the figures they were bandying about for projected sales in 2011/12 were quite staggering. Fully expect them to be bought out at a significant premium to the current share price within 18 mths. Some risk as they are still loss making but they have plenty of cash and will still have about £1m by the time they project becoming profitable. | longshanks
06/3/2008 16:50 | longshanks and explorer88 Don't blame you I also considered it today but decided to run with it and shall in fact possibly add some more if the profit taking continues. I have set a sell price for a little top slicing but the share price didn't quite reach that today. Maybe I am being a bit greedy. Long term feel this has huge potential - we shall see. Well done, though even if it was on an order - shows you are a very sensible investors. Just think with PIs taking profits today and still the share price was 8.5p up at the end of the day! GNG would offer a good home today for your money I reckon with a trading update expected any day. Good luck! EDIT Still convinced that someone is building a stake and tomorrow could be a very interesting day. | greek islander |
