Rumour of the day

Enterprise Inns fell 12.8p to 116p amid vague talk that the pubs group might launch a rights issue. The company has to refinance its debt by next September and has maintained that it does not need to issue equity, opting instead to sell off assets. However, some in the City are sceptical and expect a fundraising by the end of the first quarter of 2010.

Looks like the directors knew when to get out!

I can't see any reason why to buy ETI at present. A dead cert short to £1 I'd say. Figures out just after Christmas and going by the news flow recently I'd say £1 was easily achievable by the end of the year.
