19/3/2009 09:41 | Oh and bought a few before just to get a foothold. | fairdeal2008
19/3/2009 09:40 | NGP do look to be at a big discount to net assets, so there may be potential. theblackswan, what has happened to eam in the past looks to be a bit of a black swan state of affairs.... I was just drawn to the fact that they have effectively nearly £1million (with Dec payment) to invest and have stated this will be in the energy and nat resources sectors, and given the massively depressed commodity sector prices, that will get you a heck of a lot. Despite past troubles timing could be good for a big sea change in fortunes. Shame the MMs hold this to such a huge spread, but as we have seen, that can change very quickly in the microcaps... Good luck imho | fairdeal2008

18/3/2009 17:37 | Is it just me or is this valued at less than cash. I believe they had £475,000 at start of year and are looking for opportunities in natural resource or energy sectors. Can buy 1million online at 0.1. At 0.075 mid that values them at about £225-240k I think so about half cash. Then there is another instalment due December 09 on recent disposal (around half a million I think) with quite a large additional earn out if the disposal perfroms well in the following year. Any thoughts from holders? I don't have any but would be interested in your thoughts? | fairdeal2008

09/1/2009 17:37 | RNS Number : 4383L Energy Asset Management PLC 09 January 2009 Energy Asset Management Plc 9 January 2009 Energy Asset Management Plc (the 'Company') Result of General Meeting of Shareholders The Board of the Company is pleased to announce that the resolutions to approve the disposal of the entire issued share capital of Energy Assets Limited (EAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company and its principal trading entity (the 'Disposal'), and the new investing strategy were approved earlier today at the General Meeting of shareholders and the Disposal has now been completed ('Completion'). Further to the announcement on 23 December 2008 and detailed in the circular to shareholders, Alan McKeating, Philip Bellamy-Lee and John Butler have today, following Completion, resigned as directors of the Company and John Butler has resigned as Company secretary. Mr Martin Henry Withers Perrin has today been appointed as a director of the Company and Company secretary. The Company has now become an investing company under the AIM Rules. The Company's investing strategy is set out below. The Investing Strategy The Company will seek to acquire assets, companies or businesses in the United Kingdom and Europe in the energy or natural resources sector and in the service sector. The Company may be either an active investor and acquire control of a single company or it may be a passive investor and acquire non-controlling shares or other assets or businesses as is considered to be in the best interests of the Company. John Shaw and Martin Perrin (the 'New Board') anticipate that the management of any acquired company will have the expertise required to manage and develop that business though they may consider retaining board positions. The New Board believe that their collective experience in corporate finance and general involvement in small companies, both public and private, together with their extensive contacts base will assist them in the seeking, evaluation and funding of target companies. If required, the New Board will consult with external specialists in respect of the analysis and due diligence on a target company. In tandem with an acquisition the New Board will consider recruiting additional directors with specialist knowledge of the target. The Company has undertaken that it will not, for a period of two years following Completion, compete in respect of any business carried on within the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland which wholly or partly competes or proposes to compete with the business carried on at Completion by EAL or with any business which at Completion EAL proposed to carry on in the immediate or foreseeable future. The Company will have to make an acquisition or acquisitions which constitute a Reverse Takeover under AIM Rule 14 or otherwise implement the Investing Strategy by 8 January 2010 failing which its shares will be suspended from trading on AIM. If no acquisition is made or the Investing Strategy has not been implemented by 8 July 2010, the admission to trading on AIM of the Company's Ordinary Shares would be cancelled. If the Company has not identified a suitable acquisition approved by Shareholders following receipt of all of the consideration funds due to the Company pursuant to the Disposal (the date of which is anticipated to be 30 June 2010), the Company will hold a general meeting to decide whether the Company should be wound up with funds returned to Shareholders or continue to seek to identify a suitable acquisition. The Company also announces that with immediate effect its website address has been changed to www.eamplc.net. 29/12/2008 16:14 | Stick the money in Goodwin PLC and just wait. An excellent company. | bigalan3
29/12/2008 15:38 | Whilst it is totally disappointing that the directors sold out the trading subsidiary (and by the way kept their jobs)we are left with a "clean" quoted company that has a new management team and about £1m to re-invest over the next 12 months. So EAM now has a value exceeding its current quoted price. Lets hope the new team can find something interesting to invest in. The alternative is to sell at a loss at a grim price. | dolores123
28/12/2008 14:27 | Looks like we are left with a cash shell and one with tax losses. We have to vote it through and see what they can do with it. | bigalan3
27/12/2008 23:57 | so, noones answered my question... is this still a functioning business??? | cleudo

18/12/2008 13:35 | Finished-=dead and buried. | yufff
04/12/2008 09:47 | Not a holder, but I remember looking at the accounts a year ago. They have an unusual funding system in which a 3rd party owns the meters and the clients pays the 3rd party and on to EAM (or something like that). Looks as though the finance is not available, which is surprising given the growth of the company. Probably low margin. I have liked EAM in the past and it's in a growth sector. What shocks me here is how unclear the RNS is. It could be just the third party being sold in which case many of the services of EAM would be unaffected. Lack of clarity means I'm steering clear for the moment. Best of luck holders. | vida
