03/1/2003 13:17 | I rated these as a buy on 27/07/02 and still do, whether they do go on to retest Sept. lows. Happen to think the manager is cool, I've never met him, but the chief exec at one of my firms seemed to indicate that having Eaglet as a shareholder wasn't such a bad thing and I had already drawn the same conclusion myself. Very refreshing to see an investment manager who isn't from a red brick university background (wot o, wot o, i say old chap you scratch mine and i'll scratch yours, wink wink, lovely old school tie you've got their old chap etc) and who isn't afraid to take a contrian view. Gravy trains springs to mind Wish all great success with their investments | snappy

07/10/2002 10:54 | liveinhope Perhaps the investment world is - has - changed, so that the previous ways of making money on shares are no longer valid. I'm no pessimist, I'm 93% in cash - soon to be 100% - and I've made money on my shares, when I held them, over the last three years. But I see the world changing and I acknowledge that I have to change with it, or risk getting blown away. Deflation is coming. Not necessarily a bad thing in itself, but it is if you think like you thought in inflationary times. When the market - or rather investors - realise that deflation is a possibility, they will look back and say how expensive the FTSE was when it was 3,800. There are great opportunities awaiting the few who see deflation coming. | tday
01/10/2002 12:32 | Disagree. I like fact generally invest in companies paying dividends. Good opportunity to "average" holdings if price drifts southwards. If FTSE hits 3200 then I will get serious buying boots on. As always DYOR. | liveinhope
30/9/2002 18:27 | thanks tday I reckon 100p is not unrealistic either | sreed
30/9/2002 16:51 | hv. Maybe it's you who ought to lie down. You could have bought Eaglet at 400p in May, for 250p in July and 186p today. Why is 100p so unrealistic, especially with Eaglets borrowings? | tday

27/9/2002 08:27 | Dil (post 19) - first of all get hold of copy of their Report and accounts for the year ended 30th June 2002 (Investment Manager: Unicorn Asset Management Limited - tel: 0207-253-0889 should be able to send you) and look at RNS announcements since and you will have good idea of holdings - certainly those that are disclosable. Manager's overview made for interesting read in Report and accounts. Interesting "triangle" investments e.g Eaglet - Deltron - Acal and no doubt others. As always DYOR before any investment decision made. | liveinhope
