27/4/2015 11:17 | Hi... I have been investing around about 20 years. Started with Unit trusts, then Investment Trusts onto blue chip co's and invested into just about everything from low to high risk. I have had my huge successes and huge failures but the one thing I have never been able to get right on a consistent basis is good entry/exit prices..nothing worse for me to commit £0000 to then be 20+% down after a few weeks.. So, I have decided to buy one share each month with a view to holding it 2/3 years and drip feed new money (same amount) into it each month until sold, so as to buy the dips and to hopefully not have to worry about my portfolio on a day to day basis thus giving me more time to enjoy other things in life. I will give my brief reasons for buying the share each month and will show my % loss/gain to date in my monthly updates. Good luck to all of you no matter what, how or when you buy.. Date Share (epic) Average price ( 27/04/15) Oct 2014 Rockhopper (RKH) 65.36p Jan 2015 Smaller Co.Divi Trust (SDV) 166.78p Feb Iomart (IOM) 208.25p Mar Hunting (HTG) 543.49p Apr Zytronic (ZYT) 292.59p Bought RKH as believe the Falklands oil story will be back on investors radar screens over the next 12-24 months and see it as the best bet in the region. SDV......Invests in small growing companies and at a discount to NAV and has a great yield. IOM.....made good money on this selling out at 280p early last year.....growing company operating in an exciting area and I think the failed bid of last year will come back. HTG.....a service provider to the oil & gas industry. Has cash and pays dividend. share price has suffered due to poor sentiment towards the O&G industry. ZYT.....made money on this in the past and below it highest price. Has cash & pays a good divi. Growing and has lots of new areas into which its technology can be used. | patrick9092 |
