DataLogic International Announces EncrypTAC(TM), a Public Safety
and Homeland Security Solution
Provides Mobile Users Secured Wireless Communications With NCIC and FBI
Databases
IRVINE, Calif., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DataLogic International,
Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI; Berlin, Frankfurt Stock Exchange: 779612) a
provider of consulting services and communication solutions including VoIP, GPS
based mobile asset tracking, and secured mobile communications, today announced
the release of EncrypTAC(TM), a comprehensive Homeland Security wireless
communication solution.
"As testament to our creative spirit and dedication to the Homeland Security
market, DataLogic, working with Radio IP Software and ActivCard, has developed
a commercially accepted solution, EncrypTAC. EncrypTAC is a solution that
exceeds Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) standards and meets other
requirements of the FBI and Departments of Public Safety for wireless
communications that allows authorized security personnel to remotely and
securely access mission-critical databases," stated Keith Moore, DataLogic's
Chairman and CEO.
In accordance with CJIS rules and regulations, all wireless communications that
access the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) or like databases must have
a roadmap to and/or meet all the following standards by September 2005:
1. Two-factor authentication
2. FIPS 140-2 encryption with a minimum of 256 bits
3. A roadmap to AES encryption
"We are excited to announce the release of this timely, leading-edge product,
which gives security officers in the field secured access to the information
they need. In January 2005, the Tesuque Tribal Police using EncrypTAC received
the first certification from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety for
meeting the CJIS standards for wireless communications," said Mr. Moore.
"ActivCard is the market-share leader in smart card-based identity solutions
for the government market and we remain totally committed to those customers
and are pleased that DataLogic has selected our technology for EncrypTAC," said
Ben. C. Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of ActivCard.
"EncrypTAC showcases Radio IP Software's ability to bring state-of-the-art
encryption technologies to any wireless network. Agencies can now run NCIC
checks over a secure wireless connection without the fear of compromising its
mobile data. We are proud to serve public safety markets with the unique
solution EncrypTAC provides," said Alain Adam, President of Radio IP Software.
