Deep-Sea Leisure PLC - Chairman's AGM Statement

DEEP-SEA LEISURE PLC
9th July 1998

                Deep-Sea Leisure PLC (the "Company")

AGM Announcement
----------------

At the Company's Annual General Meeting held today, 9th July, 1998, Chairman
Frank O'Callaghan said:

"Your Directors are delighted to announce that The Blue Planet Aquarium near
Ellesmere Port will open its doors to the public this weekend. I am also
pleased to announce that the official opening will be on the 31st July, 1998
on which day Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will pay a
commemorative visit to the aquarium. The demographics of the catchment area,
8.25 million people living within a 50 mile radius, are approximately four
times that of the Deep-Sea World Aquarium at North Queensferry and your
Directors believe that the opening of the Blue Planet Aquarium will
significantly enhance the Group's earnings in the current financial year.

Visitor numbers in the first four months of the current financial year at the
Deep-Sea World Aquarium at North Queensferry have been below expectations due
to major road works on the Forth Road Bridge at weekends which are due to
complete later this month. Marketing initiatives over the coming months
should reduce the impact caused by this disruption, as a result, and in view
of the opening of the Blue Planet, the Directors are confident that there will
be no material impact on the Group's results for the current financial year.

The Board has identified a number of exciting opportunities to expand the
Group within the United Kingdom as well as into mainland Europe and several of
these opportunities are being actively progressed. The outlook for the
Company over the next year and beyond is very exciting and your Board
remains confident about the Company's prospects."
