DAGENHAM MOTORS PLC (the "Company")
PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

In accordance with the terms of the Resolution approved by shareholders at the
Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 28th May 1997, the Company made
the following market purchase of its own Ordinary Shares of 10p each on 30th
June.

150,000 shares at 90 pence per share

This purchase represents 0.7% of the Company's issued share capital
immediately prior to purchase.
