               Colgate to Webcast 4th Quarter Earnings Conference Call

New York, New York, January 31, 2002... Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) will
provide a live webcast of its fourth quarter and 2001 year end earnings
conference call on Tuesday, February 5, at 11:00 a.m. EST. The call will be
hosted by Chairman and CEO, Reuben Mark and Vice President - Investor Relations,
