           Colgate to Webcast 1st Quarter Earnings Conference Call

New York, New York, April 17, 2002... Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL) will
provide a live webcast of its first quarter earnings conference call on
Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The call will be hosted by Chairman
and CEO, Reuben Mark and Vice President - Investor Relations, Bina Thompson.
