                                  LATE FILING                                  

During the period between 7 and 23 May, 1,500,000 shares comprised in client
portfolios were subject to a stocklending agreement.  These shares were not
taken into account for the purposes of disclosures under Rule 8 during that
period or following the termination of the stock loan either:

(a)    in respect of the disclosures made on 15, 16 and 20 May and 4, 5, 6 and
9 June, therefore the figures disclosed in sec. 2a on those dealings days were
incorrect and should have included the additional 1,500,000 shares; or

(b) in respect of dealings between 7 and 14 May and between 10 June and 7 July
which have not been disclosed.
