Carisbrooke  Shipping today announces the successful completion of  the  Dutch
investment   fund,  Carisbrooke  Shipping  CV4,  the  launch  of   which   was
foreshadowed  in  the  Group's announcement of  21  October  1988.   The  fund
completed as planned in December and was significantly over-subscribed.  As  a
result,  the  Group's  equity stake in the fund is 8.3%  which  represents  an
investment of NLG 540,000 (approximately #175,000 at an exchange rate  of  NLG
3.1:  #1.00).

As  previously  released, the fund will be acquiring a 5,000 tonne  deadweight
ship  which  is being built by Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands.   The
ship will be managed by Carisbrooke.
