CARISBROOKE SHIPPING PLC

Carisbrooke announces that it was notified on 9 March 1998 that the wife of Mr
Ron Robson, the Company's Finance Director, and in whose shares he is deemed
beneficially interested, had purchased 10,000 ordinary shares in the Company
on 9 March 1998 at a price of 45p per share.  Mr Robson is now interested in
10,000 ordinary shares representing approximately 0.1% of the Company's entire
issued share capital.  

In addition, the Company was also notified on 9 March 1998 that Mr Ian Walker,
Chartering Director, purchased 10,000 ordinary shares at 45p per share on 9
March 1998, taking his total holding to 11,000 shares, representing
approximately 0.1% of the Company's entire issued ordinary share capital.
