01/12/2004 13:06 | James - LOL! Rgds the contrarian P.S. There's at least a couple of week timescale for tracker funds to make the change, to maintain an orderly market. | dell314
01/12/2004 13:04 | dan Hedge funds etc are aware of which stocks are most likely to be included in the ftse100 well ahead of almost everyone else. They have been buying up the shares in the last few weeks knowing that they will have a guarenteed outlet in the weeks to follow. This always happens with newly included shares, which often heralds a peak in their price. Look at recent inclusions for evidence...Cairn Energy is the one I recall without looking them up. | mike crowsoft
01/12/2004 13:04 | Go for it dan! Then we can have another excellent title for the next thread! Chp 35...another messiah bites the dust;how pikey-like | ivor massive1
01/12/2004 13:01 | dan - I am not the most clued up on such matters, but if all indications point to a surge isn't it a tad risky to short ? | ![]() james 2
01/12/2004 12:59 | done a little research, tomkins look set to chucked out the footsie leaving the way clear for tate to return, all based on yesterdays closing prices and tate appeared to be ramped up across yesterday for this reason. so now the qualifying period has passed and what with the ex divi, tates price does not need to remain high in order to get into the ftse, its pretty much a done deal, when they do go back you will have all the tracker funds buying there stock so another surge is likely then. in the meantime however... a drift? | jedi shorter
01/12/2004 12:59 | I think devlineb is pikey for 'fill your boots with tates' | mike crowsoft

01/12/2004 12:52 | ex divi should not be causing the current drop, either a buying op or the bubbles burst. | jedi shorter
01/12/2004 12:51 | A buying op if ever I heard one. | ivor massive1
01/12/2004 12:48 | GIT! MIKE!!! TATE SHORT ALERT... its had the top blown off it and gone ex divi but i suspect theres more to the devline. | jedi shorter
