Agree with you 100% Flying C.
I'm quiet pleased that it is September as it is relatively near but gives ample opportunity to both parties for "work behind the scenes" IF they are so inclined. If not then I am very comfortable with the likely outcome of the ICSID ruling.

So could it be that ROI and CHL have jointly asked for this extension or that ICSID have delayed further?. Given the time already taken possibly the former?

well that's the June rns out of the way.

So September for the forgery decision - if this goes CHL's way then ROI's case falls away and they potentially expose themselves to a $1bln+ fine

Will the ROI want to go and have this made public or will they be tempted to try and settle OOC in advance?

The September ruling is ONLY for the forgery aspect of the arbitration.There is still a long long way to go yet for the rest of the arbitration. 2017-18 is more likely for everything else , by which time Churchill will have required more funding.And people were claiming back in Jan 2013 that award was coming Feb 2013.Three years later and theres still delays.

Not too surprising. This is how arbitration works in practice, and it is giving parties a window of time to settle up if they are so inclined.

No doubt the trader chimps will run for the hills (a twelve week holding period is longer than most of them can bear to imagine) and the trolls / rampers will make up stories (both ways) hoping to profit from volatility.

But for the longs we now have clarity on when to expect the ruling. And in the context of CHL's journey it's nothing. May well be a chance to load up some more in the next few days and weeks as the herd get excited about something else that better corresponds to their attention span, and the focus is off CHL for a while. And if a settlement comes before then so much the better.

"Churchill has no further update as to when the ruling in respect of Indonesia's Forgery Dismissal Application will be issued. Churchill expects that a further announcement will be made in due course."

The expression "In due course" means later, or, when appropriate, in the passage of time, when we feel like it etc, etc, etc! Unfortunately it does not mean imminently, but it dosent preclude 'imminently' either. So as we said before, the RNS was 'empty news'.
