RNS Number:8649U Charter European Trust PLC 22 April 2002 CHARTER EUROPEAN TRUST PLC (the "Company") The Company is pleased to announce that on the basis of elections made under the scheme of reconstruction and the offer for subscription, it is anticipated that the assets of Charter Pan-European Trust plc, the Company's successor trust, will be approximately £80 million at launch. 19,231,517 shares in the Company rolled over into the new trust and valid applications have been received under the offer for subscription in respect of 865,100 shares in Charter Pan-European Trust plc. All shares applied for under the offer for subscription will be allotted in full at the issue price of 150p. David Benson, Chairman of the Company, said "We are delighted with the strong level of support that has resulted in the creation of a substantial new Pan-European Trust. This confirms our long held belief that a number of our shareholders wanted to remain invested in a successor trust to Charter with its Pan-European remit."
